It is hard to believe that my little newborn baby will be five months old this coming Friday (June 5). He’s grown a lot in the past few months and is learning how to do new things all the time.
On April 15 (while some might have still been focused on getting their taxes done), we celebrated Luke’s “100th day” of life. It was a Korean tradition I had observed while living in South Korea, and I wanted to celebrate Luke’s “100th day” birthday in the same way that I had celebrated Jared’s.
One of the biggest changes in his little life happened on May 2. He was officially moved out of Mamma and Daddy’s room and became Jared’s roommate instead. It took a little while for both boys to adjust to the new rooming situation and sleeping in the same room together, but they are getting used to it now. Luke’s crib is on one side of the room and Jared’s bed is on the other.
In the past few weeks, Luke has figured out how to roll over from his back to his stomach. At this point he hasn’t figured out how to roll back over to his back. This eventually causes him great frustration as he makes the attempt.
He is also learning how to sit up. He can’t sit up on his own yet, but he’s getting there.
Luke has also become quite a jabberer. He likes to open his mouth and start squealing or babbling to us. It’s quite interesting to watch. I look forward to the time when he will actually try to make intelligible words come out of his mouth.
He’s at a very fun stage in life right now. He doesn’t get uptight about changes in schedule and is happy and content being held by most anyone. The only time he gets really unhappy is if he is hungry.
